Windows Media Player Website Kills Computer

I recently built my computer, and now everything works, but for some reason when I go to the Windows Media player website, it freezes IE and makes my computer become semi-unresponsive. I got Windows Media player from another source, but why would it do that? It's just that website that I've found to do that.

WMP will come with Windows, and will update itself through the Windows updates, you shouldn't have a reason to download it from anywhere else.

If you aren't going to the site to download it, either, as Linkin says, try another browser, or open up task manager, click processes and find iexplorer.exe and look at how the CPU and memory resources change when you are on the website. If they jump high, chances are, and it wouldn't be all that surprising given the specs in your sig, the content on the page is too much for your system to handle at a decent speed
