Windows Media PLayer and Winamps seems to be working fine before i downloaded a song from multiply.com.. it played well and perfect.. but after the next song on my WMP list.. the acoustics and instruments are good but the vocals or singer cant be heard or sings so lousy already.. i tried taking out WMP from the Windows components list..(since i dont know to uninstall it) and i uninstalled and reinstalled winamp and still the same.. ive ask some tech people and they say they also dont know.. coz when i play videos from other resources like youtube its working fine.. and the sounds on the games i play are all normal.. it really does seem to be my WMP and WINAMP, right?.. PLease help!.. THanks!!

The thought there should be on a corrupted file when everything else seems to run normally. If the file was ripped off of a cd or downloaded for storage on the hard drive the file is most likely damaged or not fully copied and needs to be replaced.

because everything sound lousy now.. even newly downloaded songs.. all off the songs are like that.. where could i check on my WMP?

Try the advanced sound mixer settings. If your sound is onboard you would go to the sound volume control in Windows and click on the advanced button for the level adjustments there. A third part is for bass and tremble settings. With a good sound card installed like a Creative model the software will come with it's own sound mixer for input levels for different sources as well as for the bass and tremble.

At the default levels everything stinks! If adjusting those fails you may have an incomplete installation of sound drivers to repair. The last thought would be on the speakers or connections. But the description of low or muffled vocals points to the tremble being way too low.
