Yeah, you know when you open a file and it opens in windows media player and I click another file and it takes over the first one I opened how do I set it to open the other file in another windows media player window, thanx

never tried that but i don't think you can, unless you get a player which supports multiple playback window

If you right click the second track and click 'Queue-it-up' it should add it to the active playlist instead of replacing it... I think.

As Chupacabra said there might be an option in the settings to do this action on a double click to make it easier. Not sure what though..:)

Not sure if this is what you're looking for? Don't know about the additional window thing.

I don't think 2 instances of WMP can be open simultaneously. However, if you use Media player classic or VLC player and enable the reqd option, you can have multiple videos running simultaneously.

yeah i have used that but thats not what Im looking for I want to run music files at the same time oh well guess I can't and I thought that vlc media player didn't work with windows vista?

You want to run them at the same time? lol Why? If you're trying to mix tracks have you tried any proper music editing software? Or if you're trying to crossfade, then maybe see if there is a specific setting or plug-in available. Other wise I don't know how you could do it  except to maybe play the first track with WMP, and the second over the top with a different media player VLC maybe.

Personally I use foobar to play my music so I'm no expert with WMP really but if you can get the hang of foobar then the possibilities are endless. It really is the "swiss-army knife of music players". ;)
