Windows overclocking

Since my BIOS has a max 300 FSB, and wont boot with anything over 278 MHz FSB, i tried over clocking in windows using A64 info.exe

Ive managed to get it to 3 GHz before now, even though my BIOS says that the max it will go is 2.7 GHz.

I set the cpu to 2.75 GHz, with 1.375 V, HT x 3 and the ram at DDR 333 speeds.

I ran orthos and it seemed stable as anything, running at 60 C full load, which is a bit worrying.

I want to know how safe this is, and how comes i can overclock this far, but i cant in my BIOS, would i be better off getting a different mothebroard that is known as a good overclocker.

Your thoughts?

Are you able to raise the voltage in the BIOS? The reason you may not be able to get any higher then 278Mhz FSB could be because the voltage is still stock, or you havent lowered the RAM speed yet.
