Windows Product Key Audit

Hi Everyone,

I hope this is the correct forum to ask this question.

I have recently been employed by a small/medium sized company to oversee all there IT Support. It has only been a couple of days in the job and I am pretty sure that the majority of the Microsoft Products installed on the company PC's are going to cause license issues (i.e. same key reused many times).

I am aware of products that when run locally on each PC will give the product key for the Windows Operating System etc. But does anyone know of an application that scans all the PC's on the network (remotely accessing the registry) and returns the product keys?

If not then I will obviously just do this one PC at a time locally, but it would save so much work if it was possible.
I will then know how many licenses we do actually have and what is needed to make the software that the company uses "legal".

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

When installing Windows on corporate machines tied into a network the company itself generally purchase a corporate license where there can be a large volume of systems even added after the initial setup. That would be the way to proceed. For private use other licenses offer upto 15 machines on some. Those are more or less the consumer not corporate type there.
