Im attempting to setup remote desktop assistance on my laptop and desktop but Im running into some issues. Both Are running Vista, but when I type in the IP for the one I want to connect to it wont work and I try connecting to it via our workgroup path that doesnt work either. What do I need to do to make this work?

for remote assistance you need to invite yourself to it... go to start and type msra.exe and hit enter. then click invite someone to help you. i would guess you would want to save the file. and then go on the other computer and click to help them.

Oh! So I cant just log onto my computer via this method, I would have to invite on one pc then accept on the other?

yes, but logmein like mep said also works. its free and you just have to install it. (recommended because it is really easy to use)

yep same here setup on two comps in a matter of seconds! Im already considering paying for the Turbo service that you install on a pen drive. Good Times!

haha. It's sick. Trust me, I've tried the Windows Remote Connection crap several times. I could never get it to work. I had logmein up and running in under 10 minutes.

+100 internets to Brian. :P

:P haha wow what i though at the time was a simple suggestion

Logmein is a awesome program, Use it every day. I also use, Netop, VNC, and SynchronEyes to do my remote controlling with in my network.
