Windows Search Function (Indexing Mapped Drive)

PC is running Windows 7 Pro 64-bit where I'm trying to search for a particular file over a network share but it seems that the files shared over the network aren't being indexed by Windows. I have looked for a couple of sources online and they tell you that this can be done by using a third party software that I downloaded and such program is called 'Locate32' where it did work using this program. I have tried to do this from Windows again and went to the mapped network drive and 'Always Available Offline' and something is syncing with 'Sync Centre' which is built into Windows.

Now, if after syncing all the files this happens to work, will those files that it manages to find offline be in sync and update the ones found on the server? And is the updating done automatically? I hope it's not making duplicate files and folders as I'm confused. Any help on this is much appreciated!
