Alright well i still haven't downloaded/installed it because Ive been happy with SP2 and haven't seen any reason or benefit to upgrade, or at least i haven't heard any. So if anyone would like to enlighten me on the pro's/con's it would be greatly appreciated.

you might aswell install it as its going to be install on an update you get, its always good to get service packs especially for windows even if it isnt any better than sp2 just get it

Sp3 is fine, theres no need not to get it. And it makes XP faster.

I didn't notice any speed difference when I updated my computers running XP. It's just the last service pack Microsoft is offering for the XP OS. After using Vista I would just upgrade to Vista if your hardware can handle the demand.

I installed it and I got this awesome new feature.

lagging my harddrive from 66-70mb transfer to 10mb...all around laggy as hell. GO GO SP3!!!!

I went back to Vista after that lol.

I've used computers with SP3, and didn't noticed anything different. However, if MS released it, then I'll get it, as I really don't see any reason to not get it.

All it is, is a Service Pack with updates.

People say that if you install SP3 on a SP2 computer then when you start up the following comes up (correct me if im wrong):
1. Boot screen
2. Windows XP Loading
3. Computer stays on but the computer stays blank for hours.

And it is true, I have a very old Compaq computer that came with With Windows 2000 SP1 and I put XP SP2 working smoothley on it then like when Vista was released i kept my XP and a few weeks later my computer crased down so I got my Windows 2000 laptop with 98 on it and put Windows for legendary computer thing, and put XP SP2 on it 5 weeks later I upgraded it on microsoft.com to SP3 when i did the blank screen thing came up, and i thought it was time for a upgrade and brought a shiney new Toshiba Windows Vista laptop and put Windows 7 on it (I have a Windows 7 evaluation copy from Microsoft to test drive at home, so i could test drive it i put it on my toshiba) and i get fired if i dont :( but i dident any way since i did :P) and wa la.
