Windows Shot?

Alright so I'm new to the Forum but I hope you guys can help me. I recently bought a Windows XP Professional Compaq computer from a Family Member. It was working just fine until one day I downloaded and installed a gaming program. It never worked so I deleted it, But over a week my computer start going buggy, and start getting errors. So now the computer is like shot. I can get to my desktop and use programs, but when I open any internet browser it can take like a hour just to open facebook or whatnot. MSN and Downloading APP is fine, just my Internet Browsers, Also note Internet explorer was getting Pop Ups until I installed AVG(through my Downloading APP, which works every now and then) So what do you think it is, and How can I fix it, I cant do a system restore, it wont work and I dont have the Windows disk(I have the code though). Also note though, I have another computer (this one) I can use to download and transfer data. Thank a Bunch:)

Sorry, but because you've mentioned illegal subjects in your post (i.e. keygens and ares) It's against forum rules to help you
 
Although you have AV programs installed and working, it wouldn't hurt to double check for malware. Post a HijackThis log in the Computer Security section.

cybereclipse - I see your point, but he hasn't really said anything illegal. Owning a computer without the Windows disk is okay, and we can't prove that his installation is illegitimate. He hasn't violated any rules. :)
 
Okay well I'll do that by tomorrow for reasons. Also I did edit my post cause I did use some words that suggested illigeal activity. But the issue itself had nothing to do with these things, they were examples

Yeah, I just read your edit, and I have a better understanding of what cybereclipse is talking about. Never discuss keygens at CF. Thanks for editing your post.
