I have attached my modules to a motherboard with compatible devices:
GigaByte 8VM533M-RZ
Kingstone 512MB- bus 400
cpu Intell celeron D 2.8 GHz

and i have a windows XP crash "Machine_Check Exception" with error 09Cxxx...
and Linux fedora core crash with no error meesage (but system freezes)

i would suggest trying a different set of ram modules in your system, thats a classic error when you have problems with memory
