Windows Update Error

When I try to run Windows Update I get an Error message and can not download/install any updates.

Windows Update error 8024402C

I do not have any programs that would block it, I have rolled back my driver to my last update date and before.

Still nothing.

OS:
Vista 32bit Home Basic
 
When you click on "get help", it should tell you exactly what that message means. IIRC that error code means that you need to launch IE, go to the internet option page, click on the "connections" tab, and then change the LAN settings to "detect automatically".

yes... but the problem is still present.
i have rolled back my driver from when this started happening.
still, nothing.

the problem started when i tried ZoneAlarm....
but i deleted it right after...
i didnt notice a problem until about 2weeks later when i was getting a message about my automactic updates....
