Windows Update Error

The unit is not overheating or losing power. I don't know where you come up with that assumption? The laptop just tries to configure the updates, they don't install and then the system reverts back to where it was previously. It works fine after that. It take about 15 minutes for the system to to attempt to configure the updates and then revert back. It's annoying and nothing else.

Ah, I thought I read that the computer shut down in the middle of the installation.

Command Prompt Error

I attempted to open the "command prompt" to run the SFC /scannow, but was unable to do so. I tried to open the command prompt under the accessories menu and got a window named "cmd.exe application error". It said "the application was unable to start correctly (0x0000142). Click ok to close the application". Anyone have an idea what to do to correct this?

I tried running the windows update troubleshooter and I got the following message: An error occurred while troubleshooting: an unexpected error has occurred. The troubleshooting wizard can't continue. The error code is 0x80080005

I ran Microsoft Fix it diagnostics. It gave me a window named csc.exe. Application Error, the application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000142). Click Ok to close the application

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Eddie
