windows update problems

hey people,

a few days ago windows update assistant showed up at my pc, saying i needed the latest security updates. i didn't install those right away, because i was already having trouble with my processor.
a few days later, when i had my new processor, i tried installing the update. everything went great and i had to restart the system, so i did. when it was restarted it had to apply the updates, and that took really long, an hour for the first 20%. sadly it didnt go past the 20% since the pc suddenly restarted in the middle of the update.
the next day i tried it again, but it did the same thing again.

does anyone know why this problem occurs and how to solve it? im expecting it from from stopping my favorite game - ark survival evolved - to run properly. because that game started doing very "weird" the day the updates came.

Updates are nothing but BS. I would only install critical updates if at all possible. So long as you know how to use your computer in a manner that isn't going to get you malware, no one should worry about asinine updates as much as they do. Even then, no update will stop you from getting an infection. Especially from polymorphic malware. I haven't used updates since I ran Windows 98se. I haven't been hacked or got an infection, and I run everything from Freefixer, Herdprotect, ADWcleaner and other non-popular but very good malware scanners. Nothing ever found. And I know there's nothing because I browse the Internet with locked down Sandboxie for my browser. Plus, I don't just download and install anything. If it's questionable I'll upload it to Virus Total.

I don't know how to fix your issue other than backing up what you have using a second computer and wiping Windows and turning off updates. They cause too many problems then they are worth, especially when M$ QC is out the freaking window. I guess that's why they call it Windows. LOL
