How much is the expected UPGRADE versoin going to cost for windows vista? Also what are the requirments compared to XP, if they released any yet.

i was actually wondering how much it will cost also, now all i know is the video card requirements, which is a 64MB or higher video card with a few other specs, but pretty much any add-on video card that has at least 64mb of ram will run it fine, its mostly the business and school comps with integrated video that will have to switch back to classic view and not use all the cool features. Not sure about the rest of the specs yet, or if they have even been released yet. As for price, it will probably be a few hundred (my guess).

I know so many people who buy the full veroin just to upgrade....they have upgrade versoins of each OS, that let you buy it at a fraction of the cost but you have to have a prevois veroind CD.

I was also just thinking, althought it may be cool and everything, why slow down my PC if i can keep my current OS that'll take up less sytem resources and run faster.

but once games and apps are designed for Vista and they use the advatages of vista, then it may be much better in terms of performance. But once it comes out, there isnt really a need for it.

I would expect that just for an upgrade it would cost somwhere between 90-150$$$$. Not quite sure though I have never really kept on top of this stuff untill now so I don't know how much they usually make you pay for a new release. But being microsoft you know it's going to be expensive as hell. The min system requirments are a big mystery still because the os is not complete, but you can get an Idea by seaching for Windows Vista System requirements.

Is Windows Vista going to have that STUPED Home\Professional thing, Because it is relay dumb, lots of people buy computers from the store and most of them have home on them which can be a pain in the but, what if you get home and weren’t aware of the differences and decide you want to set permissions or want to use Remote Desktop Connection. And another thing to buy XP Home full it costs $200, to buy XP Professional full it costs $300, Home upgrade is $100, and Pro upgrade is $200.
They should make it so if you want to upgrade from Home to Pro it only costs $100

Probably

They started that shit after windows 2000, so I'm guessing that yea they will have a professional and home version. But most home users don't even care about the extra networking stuff cause they wouldn't know what to do with it. Anyways it's just another way to make money.
