windows vista is out

The official main launch is on the 30th. I wonder if they're letting certain retailers jump the gun on the date... I know we already have the stock of it in at work, but oh well... (and to ensure no one bought it, they raised the price to 99,999.99 in the system :P, talk about a mark-up!)

I work at a bookstore and we sell software. I just received a box with Vista Home edition, ?the one after that?, and Office 2007. All we have to do is put a tag on em and they are available for purchase.

You would have to be stupid to buy it now as your primary addess, seeing as how absolutely nothing is made only for Vista right now.

I have Vista Business which I got for free a couple weeks ago. I installed it, used it, but it was so pointless to use since there are so many compatibility issues with it, and games dont run well at all with it.

The OEM is out not the retail....just a little heads up, if you are in the UK and are buying/thinking of buying vista dont expect to get tec support at all.

At my work we have an MSDN enterprise site license subscription, which means all MS products are pretty much free to me.

I am also going to the MS roadshow next month and I'll get free retail copies then as well. However, I am not going to put vista on any main system. I will upgrade one of the help desk work stations with vista and see how it runs first. 64bit driver support still kind of sucks, and I can only imagine every spammer, hacker, etc is going to want to be the first to exploit vista.

I'll wait.

I wouldn't really bother to upgrade to vista yet seeing as i have a perfectly good Windows XP, and not much is vista only yet. I just see some snazzy effects a new design (both of which i can get in linux) and more system resources beign used at the expense of my wallet.
