Hey guys not sure if that's the right place to post but i'll go here. I have Windows Vista Home Basic installed on my laptop and i want to upgrade it to Windows Vista Ultimate. Is it possible to do that without losing the information on your computer and leaving everything as it was before?and if yes, how do you upgrade it? Thank you.

yup its possible.. just put the vista dvd in your drive and install it from Vista itself.. (without booting from it).. all your data will remain intact.

as far as i now you could download it from the microsoft website or buy a DVD of it (go for the update not the full copy), start your laptop up in home basic, pop the DVD in and click install the when it asks fresh install or "update, click update, but i would say before you do make sure you back-up everthing on DVD or a HDD, just to be o the safe side

 can you not get the upgrade .iso from the microsoft site, or are they just the full copy of vista?

Ok so what i need is the Windows Vista Ultimate Upgrade not the Windows Vista Ultamate Full Edition right? Cuz i'm planning to buy it and just want to know what to do.
