I used to have that, and thought it looked waay better than the standard xp, although i got rid of it as it seemed to use up soo much memory and slowed down my computer a lot!

wow really, i never had any problems since it replaces all system files instead of loading up a program like litestep or windowsblinds.. that may be due to your system setup up.. ram, cpu, video drivers, softwares you have running..

additional software? if you want the whole "vista" look, you will have to for stuff like vista's new gadget side panel.. but other than that, no.

does that one ^^^^^ require any stuff to be running in the taskbar and additional software to download?
nope, thats the beauty of it, it replaces windows system files with no additional softwares needed

i downloaded that crystalize one and i really like it but is it hard to get rid of it
in icon wise?
it comes with its own uninstaller and its also available in add/remove.
as for as the icons.. you will probable have to go into windows "display" and reset your themes, then reset your icons.. for example, if the my computer icon on the desktop is still the vista icon, delete it, go into start menu properties, and refresh it.. in other words, make it show on the start menu, the right click it, check "show on desktop" and it should load windows default icon.. or u can just right click it and change the icon.

glad you liked it

I think a vista theme is closest to what i will have to vista in a VERY long time, It'll prabally take up double the system resources so Untill those extra stuff ti used up don't maen much, thats when im getting it.

I think i might take up that theme offer though =P

yea it wont be out for a while... and windows is now approaching vista kinda of like mac.. the gui interface.. with a more cleaner, sleaker, aqua type gui.. and yes the system resources are intense.. a MIN. of 512, 1GB if you really want vista to operate smoothly, a fast processor, a GOOD graphics card.. and im not sure what the other requirements are.. but it requires a very powerful machine.

vista is suppose to come out in a 3D windows interface.. meaning if you have seperate windows, you will see them in 3D.. and new side panel of gadgets.. a totally new GUI, special effects, icons, menus, etc..

i have tried beta 1, and gosh was it slow.. it was a celeron 2.7ghz, 512 ram, radeon 9250.. and it somewhat gave me slow motion menu-submenus...so if you have something similar to that setup of mines.. be warned.. then again, it was beta 1, so it my have its glitches.. and to top it off, i wasn't even using all of VISTA'S special effects....

it takes a lot of resources.. and everything will pretty much be redesigned as far as GUI. beta 2 is coming out around decmeber this year.. hope you guys are MSDN subscribers..

the only reason i was asking about the removal of the windows vista was because i saw something about reinserting the windows xp disc to remove the vista settings and i dont really know where mine is.

no u dont need the xp disc.. its just a shell, so once u remove it.. all xp settings are restored. u might just have to fix your icons if you want windows icons
