How many of you are going to purchase the new Windows Vista when it comes out? I hear it's pretty slick.

I'm going to give it some time first - it'll be full of bugs like Windows XP was.

Anyone for Vista 2nd Edition? When Vista SP2 is finally out the price will have come down a little as support for XP eventually drops off. When the finished version of IE 7 is available that will be tried again on the current XP system here. That has a few improved features like antiphising and the option to block the domains of spam senders not just the individual addresses.

I am also going to wait a while and see what others think. Then let Microsoft fix everything, then I will look into buying it.

yes, microsoft is testing it to the users for any problems, they dont bother testing their product for them selves.

I have a 'Official Beta 2' disk from Vista at home,.. didnt bother trying it out yet.
i might install it, and see how it works, maybe if i like it, i'll even buy it.
but then, i have an official version of xp x64 pro atm.. wich is quite descent i think, so i dont think upgrading it it required yet

Not buying it for this present machine. I'm not a gamer, so I'll keep using XP Home on this until it dies; I'll wait until I get a future machine with Vista already loaded.

Windows Vista will be the first time I will have ever purchased a Microsoft operating system for myself, thus having a fully legal copy and all that. Currently I have a copy of Corporate I use alongside Linux. For Vista, I'll bite the bullet and give them some money.

It should be. People are trying to decide whether to upgrade to Vista in 2007, stay with XP for a few more years, or even switch to Linux completely to get away from the "continued need to upgrade" trap. !!!

My mom's computer is Windows 95 and it still works great. I wont update to Vista for a while. =/

Shoot i have been running vista since the origainal pulblic offering its amazing it goes a lot faster and runs a lot better. They have made major changes since the first one but i'm going to buy it when it comes out becuase they are really on top of the future here i kinda like it and i can get it free through my college so i will have it lol
