Windows XP encryption?

Microsoft says Windows XP home has the ability to encrypt files. How do I do this? And how good is the encryption? Can it be broken easily?

Right click on the file. Select Properties. Click on the Advanced button in the bottom right corner. Select Encrypt blah blah blah and click ok.

That option is in the disabled state on every file and folder I tried it on. Why? That is the option that says “encrypt contents to secure data”.

Hmmm. And it's greyed out. Isn't that odd. I'll have to look into it. I can barely read the screen right now, my eyes are burning so bad. That all nighter last night killed me I'm afraid.

I'll see what I can do for you tomorrow.

Heh. There you go.. I missed the fact that you have Home edition.. See that.. Lesson learned here? Don't pull all nighters. You smoke too much and you miss small details that happen to be rather important. :(

Well that gay. I need a program that can encrypt 5 gigabytes of data. That would cost me like $200. :( Anyone know of a free program that will encrypt that much data?
