Windows XP from one to another?

Alright guys, I was wondering... If I took the Hard Drive out of my Dell Dimension 2400 (Specs in Sig), and put it into a system that has all the parts except for a Hard Drive and OS, would the Windows XP transfer over to the new computer?

I have all the installation disks that came with the 2400 btw

It would only work if you put it into another dimension 2400. If its a totally different system then no, you would have to back up your files and reinstall the OS using a new license since an Dell OEM license won't work on a different machine.

All depends on the machine he's transferring to. If it won't boot, you could boot from your Dell CD and repair the installation, make sure to backup your files though, just in case. You'll have to activate Windows, but that's no big deal.
