This is what its like, He was downloading a free MMORPG game on his computer when it suddenly crashed and didnt respond. He reset it by pressing the reset button on his CPU. When it restarted, it prompted him to choose a mode, e.g. Safe Mode, Safe Mode with Networking, Safe Mode With CMD, Last Known Configuration and Start Windows Normally. He has tried all modes but failed. When entering safe mode, files will normally load on and will hang at mup.sys. All other ways will hang even before the Windows Boot Screen appears. I have tried 2 methods to rectify the problem.
1. I used my Recovery Software to recover his harddisk but when i was trying to save a backup on his harddisk it stated it did not have enough space, without this backup image, restoring will not be available.
2. I used his Windows XP Home Edition CD to go into Windows Setup, when I booted it up, the blue screen appears with Windows Setup at the top left hand corner of the screen, then they asked me if I wanted to install a Third Party SCSI or RAID something and press F6, i ignored it and it loaded the all the files needed for setup, then when it said, Setup is starting Windows, and it hangs.
I dont know how to solve this problem but i suspect it is a software problem rather than a overheated hardware problem. I have read many posts online but im still unable to fix the problem. Please help.
Thanks alot, RedDevilMaestro
