I am trying to reformat so I can install a fresh copy of windows.. I run my OEM CD and get a BSOD with a pci.sys error.. So I can't get into the installation..

I googled this error and read that a lot of people are having this problem because of the SATA drive.. Any suggestions? I am desperate for advice so I can get this over with..

try going into your bios and go to like intergrated perf. and look for sata compadibility or something and change it to compadability. i forget the exact thing to look for and what to change it to but there is a setting in the bios

I've dug through my bios on every area I could imagine and didn't see any options for what you were talking about..

Nope not there, maybe cause my BIOS is American Megetrends.. All I see is SATA Controller IDE/RAID.. No onchip SATA at all, checked all areas, North, South, all main, advanced, boot, etc and nothing for that option..

nvm I got it to work, slipstreamed SP2 and burned it for successful boot, got past the error, so wish me luck with my reformat..

download and run nlite. It will let you integrate service packs and drivers (integrate your motherboard/chipset drivers and it should fix your problem)
