Windows XP Power Option|Power Meter

Hello!

I am wondering if it is possible to disable the windows xp power meter for a laptop. I found a meter i like better, and i dont need two in the taskbar.

go to control panel > performance > power options > advanced
uncheck always show icon in task bar

i tried that

i tried that, when i pull the cord out the window battert meter still appears. i want to complete close the windows battery meter, or maybe delete it or the exe so i don't have 2 battery meters in my task bar.
