Windows XP Pro 2nd vs first edition

My old computers harddrive died and I replaced it. The version of Windows XP Pro I have on that one is version 1. I own a 2nd edition version of Windows XP Pro for my other PC. Can I load the version with 2nd Edition and then use the Product Key for the older one in order to save download time?
 
As far as I know XP didnt come in versions, you must mean XP Pro SP1 and SP2.

If thats what you mean, then the CD-Key only works with that edition of XP, it wont work on others.
