Can any one give me a direct link to downloading XP pro sp2 update package
(i would like it to be virus-free)

SP2 is an automatic download via Windows Update. The only reason it wouldn't automatically download/install is if you were using a less-than-kosher Windows XP install, in which case, no, we cannot direct you to a non-MS link.
