Hi im trying to install windows xp on a formated drive. it installed the setup files and reebooted. now all i get is a message saying there is a missing or corrupt file <windows root>\ system32\hal.dll.
iv tried some advice froma web page whch said to go into the recovery mode on the installation cd which i did, then to type the command
expand d:\i386\hal.dl_ c:\windows\system32\hal.dll.
this only received the responce 'no floppy or cd in drive'.
however there is! someone must have had this before so come on giz a hand it woud be verry appreciated. thanx alot.
