windows xp stalls sometimes on startup

New Member
just built a computer and installed windows xp home ed.
sometimes when i power up the tower, the boot process stalls and i have to reset the computer. the boot order devices in the bios is set to default.

not sure whats causing the stall during the initial boot up sequence
anyone have anyideas? :confused:

stalls when the "windows xp logo" logo is displayed with the scrolling bar on the bottom and the black background.
