Windows XP StartUp Problems

Hi,

Any one can tell me hoe to troubleshoot XP start up problems. I am trying to start Windows XP than a blue screen appear and give message

If you see first time restart the computer

It repeat again and again How to troubleshoot it any one help me

What are the specifications of the computer and what does the bluescreen say? (towards the middle it should have a number, thats all we need)

have you tried booting to an xp cdrom and then running the repair console.

just type chkdsk /r at the prompt and this should fix your issues

That was the next step IMO, I figured we'd make sure he doesn't have some sort of hardware failure before we try to fix the software, but a good suggestion non the less.
