Windows XP startup problems.

My computer has been fine untill now, when as soon as I start it up, the Windows XP logo comes up, it will sit there for a good 10 mins, then finally I get a blue screen up, saying that Windows has been shut down because of a problem. The file causing it is "SAVRT.SYS". I cant get safe mode to work either as it loads up, and then I get a blue screen saying that it cant find the file "wininet.dll". Any help on this problem will be greatly appreciated, just tell me what to do in enough detail and I can normally work it out! lol thanks!

When you get the blue screen you should have a string of numbers like 0x000000000 etc with a few numbers on the end that. If you search for those numbers in the microsoft knowledge database it should give you an idea of whats wrong with your system.
For example search for:- stop error xxx (where xxx is the number of the error)

Cant seem to find the code that comes up, on microsoft's database, heres the code I get, *** Stop: 0x000000CE (0xAAFC5592, 0x00000008, 0xAAFC5593, 0x00000000)

have you installed any new hardware or drivers before these errors occured? if so start up in safe mode.

This is also a common error when the ram in your system is messing up. If you have more than one stick try running with only one stick in your system if that doesn't try the other sticks and see what happens. If that doesn't help try using a spare stick that you know works

No new drivers were installed into the machine before it did this, Safe mode won't work as the file Wininet.dll is playing up. Ive swapped the Ram from my machine into this one, my one is still having problems, but this one is fine.

In the repair console that comes up, what exactly do you type in to get it to rapair? As its all in a Command Prompt type thing, and not really being a massive computer nut, I have have really understood it.
