Alright guys, SO! I recently obtained a Dell Dimension 2400 (vvvvv Specs) from a family friend. I already did a full system restore on it, and had it set back to factory settings. BUT theres a problem. The piece of crap has no upgrade capabilities at all, and for the time being I want to be able to play at least CS:S until i'm finished buying the parts for my new and upcoming computer.

So I was wondering, could I take the Hard Drive out of my Dell and put it into this barebone: http://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/sys/1798891732.html. I have all the original CD's that came with the Dell Dimension too.
 
You will not be able to use the dell cd's to reinstall the OS, as you will need to do it as its a different motherboard then the original and it won't activate. You'll have to buy a new OS.
 
i only said that because i just did something similar on a HP. New HD with XP Pro but did find the drivers at HP.
Just mentioning. worked fine.
