Windows XP will Not BOOT!!!

Anyways I'm glad to see that method worked well for the external drive there. I was considering going for a 500gb or 750gb external drive here rather then adding in one of the new 1tb sata models now seen.

That would free up one of the two 500gb model(one for storage) and see Vista moved from the ide drive onto the then second 500gb then. But the case has the right air flow setup for adding in even another pair of 500s since the board has 6 sata ports onhand.

An external however would allow large transfers of files for different systems when downloading drivers for restoring old cases or now upgrading a friend's laptop. But it's usally takes a fresh redetion even with other usb type devices to see things going again.

how about iPods? them too?

I haven't actually used one yet. For a small device the prices on them are still rather high. In fact the new lcd monitor here just happens to include a docking bay for IPods! http://www.viewsonic.com/products/lcddisplays/xseries/vx1945wm/

The smallest was seen for about $88 lately in a retail store. The idea behind the external drive however besides external storage would be for transferring downloads and updates onto systems not connected online for direct download there. Of couse for an older pc with 98 burning driver sets and other files onto cd-rs is far better then carrying a number of floppies around with you. :P

oo ...that lc dlooks crazy but what i meant was about the redention thing. I akready have an iPod nano but i was just wondering if the same prob would've happened. Like about the booting up thing.

I doubt you would see the same results being a totally different type of device there. Even an external hard drive is a standard type of storage device using magnetism while the IPod is strictly a digital memory driven type device there.

In the right click menu while in the DM the only option besides disabling or uninstalling would be the update driver option in order to refresh the drivers or using the add new hardware wizard other then the software installer itself to manually select the type of device and browse for the correct drivers.

For the most that''s a software driven item. While Windows has it's own driver base for the standard devices including usb support the IPod depends on the software along with the drivers for use.
