Hey guys a friend of mine went to change their main hdd drive letter to the appropriate C: and when done so xp refused to boot and now is getting BSOD on startup just wondering if there was a quick fix or something along those lines thanks guys and thanks for any help in advance.

Edit: Will fixboot and fixmbr give us a chance of fixing this problem

What did he use to change the drive letter? Windows won't allow you to change the drive letter for the system drive as all the boot files is stored on that drive. Not sure if fixmbr and fixboot would work in this situation or not. Might have to do a repair install.

Hey guys thanks for the replies i ran fixboot and fixmbr and it has fixed the problem and yeah its recognising the drive and booting fine well so far anyway.
