Windows XP x64

To take advantage of my Athlon 64, I would like to upgrade to Windows XP x64. All of my original programs will work with x64, right? Like Counter-strike, itunes, etc? I thought that any programs that don't support 64 bit will work, but won't take advantage of 64 bit. In short, is it worh the reformat, or should I just keep regular XP?

Actually, I think you're better off NOT upgrading to X64. I've heard of lots of compatability issues, bugs, and such.

Now I don't know what programs actually will run on both standard XP and 64bit, but I have seen 64bit versions of programs like firefox, so it makes me wonder if much is even compatable. Why not make a 10 gig partition on your drive or so and do a duel boot?

Most 32bit programs will work, they just wont use the 64bit, my friend has a a64(Hes always one step ahead of me) and runs all the normal programs fine, he had a hard time finding good drivers that would work and everything took him a while to get thigns working without being buggy,

I think that you will be better off sticking to the regular 32bit windows. Maybe upgrade after they fix all of the bugs and driver issues.

I reformatted and had the choice between the both like 5 weeks ago, stuck with 32 bit cause I couldn't find drivers for my printer
