If I could upgrade from XP to anything, it would be a Dual Boot - XPMCE (if you have under 4gb ram) or XPx64 (if you have higher) and Windows 7. I may even have tried Ubuntu, as Steam has been released for it.

Why would you upgrade from XP to XP x64? There are lots of driver and app issues with XP x64.

I think he said he'd dual-boot with XP MCE or XP x64, not upgrade from MCE to XP x64.

There are lots of issues with XP x64. The biggest problem I found was the first copy of it which I had did not have a UK keyboard layout for some reason. :/ I got another one and it had a UK layout though.

I ran xp x64 for 2.5 yrs, had no problems with it, sure it had some driver problems at first. What do you expect, since it was the first x64 bit OS made and software, hardware companies was not geared up for 64 bit till Vista showed it's ugly face. And why would you use it now since you have 7 and or 8 out there now anyway.
