Sometimes when I click on something, I hear the "clack" noise from the speakers, but there is no response and I have to click again and it works. This happens on every Windows PC I have ever been on, I don't know why, do you?

I think it does it on purpose to mess with your mind.

Honestly, i've never noticed that happening, but now that you mentioned it, i'll probably start noticing.
 
I've also noticed an occuring issue in Windows XP since around the time of the Service Pack 2 release. Seen it on all XP machines. When you double-click a folder to open it, or right-click, it takes a few seconds to "think" before it does it, almost like the entire machine is frozen, you can't click anything else. Irritating. Mine does it also.

Umm No, not freezing, mine doesn't think. Any XP computer I have been on does this, I click on anything and it doesn't respond at all and I have to reclick.

You're are talking about hard drive access time, quit running 5400RPM IDE and that won't happen. That is not Windows that is your hardware.

So wait a second, this explains why it happens on my new Acer with a SATA drive? I think not. And I'm using a 7200RPM drive, not a 5400. See the signature?

Bill Gates probably did it on purpous just to annoy everyone and cause some chaos.
 
Yeah, what you are describing is due to specific settings during the XP installation process on many PCs. For many of its customers, Microsoft not only requires Windows to be activated, but also the customer to be aggravated. And in order to stay in compliance with Windows' mobile "ease-of-transfer" solutions, the curse is known to seamlessly follow people from one PC to the next. Your only solution might be to get a mouse with no buttons.
