WinXP BootScreen loads... then Monitor goes blank/standbyes

My friend says that after he networked his computer in his house, now the computer does the Windows XP Boot Screen (Blue loading bar) but when it's time for Windows to show up, the monitor becomes BLACK/Green Light Turns Yellow/Standbyes.

What could the problem be? I just reformatted his computer for him a few days ago...
 
i think i had the same problem, and i messed with the RAM. i tryed them 1-by-1 in both slots, and switched em around, and found out that 1 of my slots were bad.
 
I have had this problem before. It had something to do with my dual monitor setup. Try and plug the monitor into any other open VGA slots.
