WINXP slow delete problem

i am interfacing problem with my operating system(windows xp).
the problem that when i delete any file, the deleting process is not quic , but
it is very slow.
can any one give me any solution ,
and thanks for all
 
when u open alot of processes it will be slow, or because of an error in windows, try disk checking.
 
Big files will take a while to delete and it won't help if your running loads of applications and using 100% CPU.
 
no, deleting a picture file is just as quick as deleting a 4gb dvd file is just that it will take longer if the folder you delete contains choke files something like if you downloaded 20,000 pictures in this folder and then try deleting it LOL.
