???????? wiping hdd help ????????

hey. i am having trouble wiping my hard drive. currently there is no os on my computer. i have used dban on it about 6 months ago. when i try and install windows xp it does the whole checking hardware, and then installs it. then my computer restarts but windows doesnt load. so i try dban again and freezes or sometimes it freezes and text pops up

. i know thats kinda hard to see and also alot to type out. Also sometimes when i try and install windows i get the blue screen of death we all love so much. so i am wondering how can i get my pc running without getting a new hdd. I have reset all the sections in bios. thanks for ur help.

Have you tried another HDD? It sounds like that could be your problem.

have you tried another windows xp disk? maybe the one you're using is faulty?

i dont have another hdd well i have a spare ide hdd but need sata. and i have a couple windows discs but they all do the same thing. i have tried react but it didnt load at all. thanks for the reply

why dont you try the hdd in another computer?

what about connecting it to a friends or maybe you cna borrow a hard drive off a friend, either way you'll find the problem is the comp or hdd

and if i run dban it wont mess there comp up, right? cause its all on the hdd

and then i can try and load win? if win loads what are the chances it will on mine. if its loaded and runs on theirs? and does this site do rep cause if they do +rep 2u

When you boot to the XP cd DELETE the partition and create a new one and format. Then let the install go forward.

i have tried that all i have left is unpartioned space
