wire manament

Some basics of wire management are using round cables instead of ribbon cables, using a modular PSU, hiding wires behind the drive cage, etc.

post some pics and tips, lets see the good, the bad, and the ugly.
Two major tips:
1. Buy a hugeass bag of cable ties both the permenant plastic type and the velcro type .... get a HUGE bag so you can just go nuts and not worry about running out
2. Buy long ass cables ...i.e., my IDE cables are 36" and 48" ... so I can fold and snake and weave them wherever.

Or using ribbon cables instead of round cables cuz you can fold ribbon cables behind the motherboard ... you'd be hard pressed to fold a round cable behind your mobo....

i don't have a modular psu so i picked up some wire sleeving and heat shrink from an automotive store. i sleeved virtually all my wires, a little more advanced than just shoving the wires behind the hd cage.
also reversing your hd's clears up some wire mess and you can then run the cables behind the cage then to the mobo.
a clean rig sure makes working on it much more pleasurable, not to mention the better airflow.

lets see some pics of people wiring...........

Yeah but after sleaving them, shove them behind the cage as well so you dont see them :)

Yep but that also depends on the case you've got

The main tip is looking throughout your case for holes, gaps etc, look for paths the wires can take whilst mostly staying hidden and out of the way.

My attempt at making it all tidy.

It's pretty damn hard to get as near the quality of wire management as Alienware, though. They are the gods.

Hehe and also knowing when to stop .... i remember when i wired my P4C800-E into the Chenming601, got all crazy about snaking and snaking and next thing I knew I sliced a few wires hehe

A modular power supply looks like this. Instead of having lots of power cables not being used, but using up space, you can just plug in the cables you need.

oh, ok thanks! I was wondering why there were more holes

I agree with what is being said. But one think to take note one; don't go overboard. I'm in my case quite ofter replacing parts and what not and some times it is a pain to get a power cable or what ever to the desired place.

Here is a shot of my job:

here's my rig again. its about the best i can do with this case. every once in awhile i find another wire i can sleeve or tuck somewhere.

"OMGWTFBFGSAUCE" ha.

Yeah, thats pretty good, considering you've got drives overlapping the motherboard. Like the blue color scheme. I guess you need one if you have a windowed case.

Something I thought, nothing major, but as your CPU is now water cooled, it doesn't need decent air flow, so you could try and get all the cool-air flow to pass over the GPU's. Dunno what temps they are at the moment, obviously, but it might be a little project worth doing.

i do have pretty good airflow over the cards. i was going to water cool my gpu's but those heatsinks work pretty damn good. one idles under 45 and the other at 40c. under load they are only hitting about 50.
