wire sleeve questions

i am planning to use wire sleeving but i read i need a molex pin remover to remove the plug to fit the wire sleeve on.

this would work, correct? and how safe is it to remove and then add the pins? are the pins in any order? will this work for all the PSU connections?

That will only work for the molex connectors. For the 4 pin CPU connector and the 24 pin motherboard connector (As well as any PCI-e connector) you'll need a different tool.

Mind that each cable has specific wire placings. The 4 pin molexes are easy, because you just need to remember which side the red or yellow is on. I would recommend with just starting on the 4 pin Molexes. That's what I did, and it worked nicely. Doing the rest of the cables would be quite a chore. Just think about the pain of remembering where all 24 cables go with the motherboard connector :). You don't want to have two switched around and fry your motherboard, or worse.

I am not discouraging you from doing it :). I did my two molex connectors the prescribed way, and they look great (that was on my old Antec SM2.0 400w PSU). Now, I just take the bigger sizes of sleeving and put it over a few select cables and then ziptie them on. It doesn't look quite as nice, but still gives the effect.

ill use cable ties and then ill see if i really need it. i like the idea of getting the bigger sleeves but i dont know. and when it says a sleeve size, can the sleezes be tightened?
