wired problem...need help.

well i have been using this windows 7 evaluation version which worked out quite great for few weeks but now giving headaches,
problem arised due to power failure which caused a system crash,
and now whenever i shutdown my laptop it automatically restarts:mad::mad::mad: and i have to force fully shut it down by pressing power button,
any solutions, this is really freaking me out.
 
Have you tried to Repair the install? Sounds like the OS might have gotten
corrupt with the power failure, and therefore thinks to "Shut Down" means
to "Restart". ?

Throw the Win 7 disc back in and boot from it like you're going to install,
and select Repair Windows.
 
I dont think repair option would work out. What I would suggest is to reinstall the OS. Just format and install. Now every thing would be nice......
