i just got a labtop and wireless router to go with it...and i'm havin some trouble.
i already had a regular wired router with 4 comps plugged into it leaving it full so this is what i did so i could use both together...
-plugged ethernet from modem into "internet" port of regular wired router.
-plugged 3 of my comps into the ethernet ports of regular router, leaving one port free.
-with that free port, plugged the wireless router into my regular router. (so it's going from "wan" port on wireless router to regular router's last free port)
-connected 4th desktop pc to a port on wireless router (it has 4 ethernet ports)
-connected labtop wirelessly to the wireless router.
-so i have 2 comps (one desktop, one labtop) connected to wireless router, 3 desktop pc's connected to the regular router.
after all that, every computer could connect to the internet just fine. the problem is getting them to connect to each other[/I, any given computer from the regular router won't connect to a given computer on the wireless router...cant view shared files, they dont show up in network places, cant send documents to print and that type of shit...the crazy thing is this wasnt even a problem a few hours ago and i could connect ALL comps perfectly...then i'm not sure what i might of done but i just cant get comps on either router to connect to each other...
sidenote: comps on wireless router can connect to each other, and likewise the 3 comps on the regular router connect to each other fine...
