Wireless 360 contoller on vista

I bought this cord wireless thing that lets me connect my xbox 360 controller with my computer but I can't use it in any games I have!!! Not FEAR, Oblivion, Half Life none! I go to the control panel and it shows I don't have a controller in there. Is it driver issues or what? anyone use a 360 controller for thier PC I got the wireless adapter that plugs into my USB drive and it supposedly reads my 360 controller. Oh is the joystick for games the same as a game controller? and if its the compatibilities with my games thats the problem what games do use the controller so I can test it out?

A controller should work in any game that has joystick support...which I'd assume would be most any. Are there any errors in Device Manager regarding it? Did you install any drivers for it? I've never tried such a device, but if you don't see it in the controller setup, it's probably not installed.

Yeah I installed the disc that came with the wireless controller receiver and it said it installed I just can't get it to work on games and show up in the game controller setup thing.
