Wireless access point question?

Hi:

I am trying to set up wireless access point for my company. I have a question. My company has several areas. I am trying to set a access point in each area. But I want all access points to be one wireless network SSID, which means when users search for wireless network they will only see one wireless network. Instead of seeing one wireless network per access point.

Are those access point products on the market able to do that? How?

no, you cannot make one big single wifi network out of several routers. a computer will see several routers at once.

sorry for a little mis-understanding here. I am actually talking about just one router but several access points. I searched on google, I found something called WDS. Is that something I am looking for?

I have a couple access points at one site with identical SSID's - One network appears.

You need to have the security set the same, but need to seperate the channels.

I used 3 com ones, which do not say they can do this....but it does work. There are some makes with 'roaming' as a feature.

Netgear do a range of access points which connect to a compatible netgear roaming router. This merges everything into one also.

I guess there are two ways of doing it. One is the one you said with APs having roaming feature.
The other one is the WDS, recommend same SSID, same WEP, same channel, and APs need to set as WDS mode. Each AP needs to set other AP's mac address.

Correct me if I am wrong.
