Wireless adapter for my desktop?

I hope this is the right subforum. I'm looking to buy a wireless card for my desktop so that I can connect to my router wirelessly. Are there any hardware specifications I need to be wary of, or are wireless adapters pretty much universally useful? What are the best wireless adapters? And is Newegg my best bet?

Thanks in advance

Nevermind. I did a tiny bit of research and bought an ASUS PCE-N13 PCI Express Wireless Adapter. Double-checked my mobo and it has an open PCI Express slot. Now I play the waiting game.

yes as you know theres pci cards that make desktops wireless , also it can be done with usb dongles , but i would say you made the best choice good luck
