Wireless Adapter Question

I was looking at a D-Link wireless adapter. It said in order for it to work your computer must have 500 MHZ. Do you think it would work below that?

800MHz is above 500MHz :P But that aside, such specs are really pointless. I had a 75MHz laptop on a wireless network/internet before ;)

what OS are you running.
I can see maybe the wireless connection software not running on to slow of a computer but the hardware should work just dont load the " software " that comes with it and load only the drivers. and use microsoft wireless connections

That is a good point... But as long as they're running 98SE, it shouldn't be too much of a problem. That is unless the software requires more. I know XP does work much better with Wifi than older OS's... I had some problems with the last PC I tried to setup wirelessly using 2000...

It is actually for a computer I'm hoping to get in a few weeks. I'm eventually going to purchase a old thinkpad. I'm researching on what wireless cards are better. Do you think an old thinkpad is going to have a type II PC Card Slot?
