wireless card and router

hi i have a laptop with a wireless card and a desktop computer in my basement w/ a cable modem hooked up to a router. i am planning on permanently putting my laptop in my room but the signal is very weak up there. what can i do to strengthen the signal or do i need another cable modem for my room?

Actually they dont have a good signal, the signal is about the same as a normal wireless router, the only difference is that it stores memory ahead of time so that lag doesnt effect your gameplay, it also runs at 108mbps which is generally 2 times more what normal routers run at (54mbps). What your looking for ekim is a indoor signal amplifier or a stronger antenna. Please give me your router model and i will find somthing that works well with it.
