Wireless Connection Missing

I have a home-based wireless internet connection for my laptop called HOME. I went out of town the other day and while I was away I hooked up to a wireless connection called LINKSYS.

Now I am back home and my HOME connection has disappeared from my list of available networks, but LINKSYS is somehow still available and I am able to connect, but it is no where near as fast as HOME was. Does anyone have any idea where my HOME connection went? Thanks for your help.

Have you tried to refresh your available wireless networks list? Once you set up your wireless connection, it should remember it and autologon the next time it detects it. You should be able to use your wireless network at home, then go to a wifi hotspot in town and then come back home and it should automatically connect to your wireless network.

Yes, I have refreshed the list many times. Still no HOME. That is the weird thing - it is as if LINKSYS took over HOME somehow.

Then the only thing i can think of is that you didn't have it set to save your wireless connection, so when you returned home, it acted like it was a new network. If you want the wireless to have the SSID of "home" then you will need to go into the router settings and change the SSID. The SSID is the name that is broadcasted from the router so you can tell them apart.
