I am trying to wireless connect a pc in my shed to my home pc that is about 75-85 feet away. I just purchased a wireless usb adapter for the pc in my shed but am only getting a very low signal. Is there a better way to do this or anything I can do to boost the signal strenght?
Thanks

Is the PC out in the shed a laptop or a regular desktop computer? A usb adapter will not work well at that range. If its a regular desktop pc then you may want to try getting a pci wireless card like this.

Does the router in the house have directional antennae's on it? You might want to move them in the direction of the shed. The last option would be to run an ethernet cable from the router in the house outside to a router out in the shed and you would have great wireless then.

Thanks John. Thats just what I did and it works pretty good. Now every time I start up I am getting the so called blue screen of death, IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

This happened a couple of hours after I had every thing up and running fine. Any suggestions?

I'm wondering what sort of grounding issues you may have if it's the proverbial "garden shed". Presumably you've tried booting with the ethernet disconnected.

Usually caused by a bad driver. Try updating the wireless driver from the manufacturers website.
