Wireless connection

I am trying to create a wireless connection on desktop computer(windows xp). I have Netgear adapter. I have installed everything(Netgear,connection). It says computer is connected to wireless connection, but internet is not connected to wireless connection? What is wrong? Thanx for answers.

What do you get in ipconfig? What are you using for a wireless router?

What do you mean in ipconfing? For wireless I have Belkin Router F9K1009v1.

Open device manager, click on the plus sign next to network adapters and tell me what is listed. In device manager, are there any entries that still need a driver installed?

My computer now stop working. I cannot turn it on. The only thing I know works is electricity. Does anybod have idea what this is or might be? The coputer apaears completly silent.

BIOS could have went to crap or maybe if you're lucky it's RAM. Try pulling the RAM out and reseating.

C'mon. Think like a user. That probably means the computer powers up but nothing else.
